Travel Essentials: Beauty First

While traveling, I had the opportunity to pick my make-up artist sister’s brain on all things beauty. Most importantly I was able to find out what the ultimate beauty essentials are for your carry-on be it a shuttle flight up to Boston or a cross Atlantic jaunt to Italy. She broke it down and gave the step-by-step of what any traveler should always have on hand.

Bobbi Brown Foundation stick – This is the ultimate travel lifesaver. It’s not a liquid so you don’t even have to worry with putting it in the pesky Ziploc bag. You can use your finger or a brush to apply it and more importantly skin tone correct so it allows you to look flawless & works as a concealer too

YSL’s Faux Cils Shocking Mascara – This mascara will boost your lashes with some serious volume and the best part? It’s long lasting, so it will take you from customs to your dinner on the Sien. Smudge a little on your lower lash line, and it creates instant liner

E.L.F. bronzer/blush duo – A tiny compact that brings big results. It’s a perfect 2 in 1 product that’s a much cheaper ($3 – available at Target or eyeslipsface.com) alternative to NARS Orgasm Blush & Laguna Bronzer and for those of you who often forget to snag all of your brushes, you can dab a cotton ball and apply lightly for the same effect.

Rosebud salve – The no brainer. Carry this not only while traveling but everyday. It hydrates your lips, gives you a little gloss and turn it into a instant pick me up by applying a little on your cheeks for a subtle glow.

MAC Eyeshadow palettes – Best known as miracle workers, multitaskers, you name it that’s what they are. MAC allows you to create your own palette, instead of having to purchase one and never use that one awkward shade. From all-over eyeshadow to colors you can use as eyeliner or eyebrow color – you can have an all in one. The colors she recommends are – Vanilla (for an all over flawless color), Naked Lunch (slight shimmer, but can never be over done), Cork (Soft & Subtle and can be used as a defining color in the crease or through just about anyones brows), and Carbon (the blackest black to create and instant smokey eye, or dab a little on the lash line as liner or to create the always popular cat eye).

Ciao,

A
