This Isn’t Dorothy’s Gingham Dress

Reformation, Summer Style

Gingham is one of those prints that gets a bad rap. Too sweet. Too home on the range. Too Dorothy. You want to look more Mary-Ann than Dorothy right? But the real goal is to give off those Brigitte Bardot vibes … slight sex-appeal mixed with retro cool girl = the Bardot vibe achieved. But how does one get there and not stray down one of those other lingering paths? Here are a few tips on how to pull this print off and jump onboard with the print.

  1. Find a dress that has a bit of personality to it. This Reformation Manon Dress has the cutout back, skinny ties and is slightly cut in on the front. A style I think our gal Brigitte would have gotten on board with. Unfortunately that one is sold out but I love this one too.
  2. Go with a midi dress and accessorize with minimally.
  3. Toss on a straw hat for a sweet girl vibe but with this Reformation dress. Added bonus points for a cool bag.
  4. A red lip and a good hair day and you’re golden.

  2. I love a good gingham dress, but this one is AMAZING! I love how you accessorized it, too. Those sunnies are adorable!
