Making a Case for the LBD

Nasty Gal, Kendra Scott, Huit, Little Black Dress, LBD, night, street style, new orleans

I have become a firm believer that a LBD does not have to be boring, I used to steer clear of them because I felt they always looked the same. I picked up this swingy LBD from Nasty Gal recently and have worn it to everything from bowling {yes you read that correctly. a spontaneous bowling date.} to birthday dinners to night’s out with my girlfriends. With the deep cut arms I added a black Huit bodysuit {old, similar here and here} underneath but easily could have just put a bright {or basic black} bra on under it for a similar effect.  To take the look up a notch for a night out, I added the gold choker in order to amplify the glamorous, yet dramatic statement level of the dress. Side note, I actually created the choker from two Kendra Scott bracelets that I had, so a little piece of advice, never underestimate the power of your own creativity! I added her Naomi ring, which I’m a bit obsessed with, a French Connection clutch and Sam Edelman booties to complete the ensemble. My personal makeup and hair artist for the week, Stephanie, tossed up my curls into a messy undo in mere minutes, gave me a little purple infused smokey eye for drama and a bold pink lip to finish the look off.

Just perfect for dinner and drinks in New Orleans with the girls!
